Review of The Hunt (2013) by Matt H — 06 Mar 2014
Great movie, Mads Mikkelsen again gives a great performance. It's weird because in some movies he can be so creepy, and in others like this (and After the Wedding) he can seem so warm and gentle. I guess that's called range.
The breakdown at the church is such a powerful scene. I felt bad for the little girl and her family - she didn't realize the weight of her actions and was definitely confused. I don't know what the one lady who thought children never lied was thinking; of course they can, she'd have to know that working with them, you'd think.
She wasn't a bad person though either; her and the councilor weren't qualified to ask the little girl the questions they asked, and it spiraled out of control from there.
