Review of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) by Jim F — 22 Oct 2014
Brave New World meets Roller Ball meets Hannah Montana's Afterschool Special. Good cinematography, special effects, music and acting. Would have been better if the writing and tone were consistent with essentially a children's story that at its core focuses on rebellion against an oppressive patriarchy.
Overly dramatic dialogue and over the top violence comes off as awkward. A movie that takes itself way too seriously.
