Review of The Hunger (1983) by Kelsi R — 11 Mar 2008
Anything but the shlockfest the poster promises, I was stunned at how well-done the cinematography, art direction and editing was. In that sense it hardly feels like your run-of-the-mill cult film, which is awesome.
Too often these kind of movies have great ideas behind them but fall short in the cinematic elements because of budget or talent limitations. The plot is nothing special and it gets a little incomprehensible near the end, but this is still a unique and impressive film.
Not to mention that BAUHAUS is in it! (Even though their opening scene had apparently nothing to do with the rest of the story.).
