Review of The Human Stain (2003) by Laura R — 10 Aug 2006
Hm... I honestly think I would have gotten more out of the novel than I did from the movie. I don't know if it was just me, but I was a bit confused throughout, and I wasn't really that interested in the story.
Actually, I found it difficult to figure out what the story was supposed to be. There was a lot going on. Maybe I wasn't sophisticated enough to understand the movie. Maybe I missed the point. Nicole Kidman was really really good, Gary Sinise was pretty good, but Anthony Hopkins didn't exactly impress.
.. In all honesty, it wasn't that interesting, and I wouldn't recommend, or discourage anyone from seeing it. Bottom line: It just wasn't my kind movie, it has some good things going on, but it has some not so good things as well.
