Review of The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009) by Brittany T — 29 Sep 2011
Fresh off the viewing I find myself hating this film more and more each second. Obviously this means I need to write this review immediately, or my sanity may be consumed by this disgusting work of art.
There are so many things I need to say but just don't want to say about this film. Why should I justify it? Even though I believe this to be one of the greatest(?) no.... most profound(?) horror films ever made, I still feel it doesn't necessarily deserve my praise.
The real trick of course, is that this film doesn't want praise from me or you. In one big, large genius stroke that is void of traditional story or screenplay techniques, Tom Six allows the audience to indulge in Americans eating shit.
I really didn't want to give a star review to this film (much like Roger Ebert) but seeing as I have to, it's either all or nothing, just like this film.
