Review of The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009) by Jacob B — 09 Jun 2018
If you were unaware of this movie's existence until now, you're most likely living under a rock, and believe me, that is a rock worth living under. This movie is rotten to the core and forces audiences to dig very deep to find any redeeming qualities of the movie.
One that I was able to find was that the film was original and had decent acting. Aside from that, this movie is just malicious and nearly impossible to watch. For one, all of the characters and either bland and one-dimensional, or just unlikable.
On top of that, nothing of substance even occurs for at least half of the movie; it just shows the scientist living out his dream of owning a demented pet. Tie all of that together with some extremely disturbing imagery, and you get a movie that has the ability to scar and put the audience to sleep simultaneously.
In brief, this is a movie that should be avoided at all costs. The worst part is, this is the "best" of The Human Centipede trilogy.
