Review of The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by Jake B — 13 Mar 2008
A fairytale set in the land of business and power, and it's easily my favourite Coen Bros. film. The post art-deco stylings are reminiscent of a "scrubbed-up" Gilliam and give this film a cartoonish quality, helped by great performances.
As a whole it's a tad predictable - apart from the ending - but filled with so many sweet touches and effortless charm that it's impossible to dislike.
