Review of The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by Lee B — 20 Jan 2011
The Hudsucker Proxy descends into madness early on and just gradually gets worse, leading to a downright stupid conclusion. It never really gets serious enough for the story to be followed or appreciated, and the writing is mediocre at best.
This chaotic and tedious film is the first example that not everything the Coens touch turns to gold. Their direction is lazy and the end result is a lackluster comedy that isn't funny in the slightest.
A massive misfire, to say the least.
