Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Matthew L — 08 May 2010

I was really excited about this film because it had that early 80's / late 70's feel that horror movies from my childhood had, but I think it fell short on various notes. The film was relatively average (like some of the films of that era), but I felt when the action kicked in , it didn't last long enough.

It wasn't home invasion like LHotL or the strangers, so I wouldn't expect it to carry on for the whole film, but was hoping for more substance of the antagonists and the young girl. There is a really sweet car scene though! Worth watching, but probably wouldn't watch it again.
