Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Chantal L — 22 Jul 2010
This is a new horror/suspense movie that actually both of those things but without having stick lots of gore and shocks and instead is a very tense and slow movie that slowly builds it up until the truth is revealed.
The acting isn't bad for a low budget movie, it looks great and clearly set out to feel like the horror movies of old, which works great as they are some of the best. The twist at the end is great (screams for a sequel but I hope they don't) and the score and accompnying soundtrack is fantastic (didn't think I would ever hear The Fixx in a horror movie).
