Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Zack B — 26 Oct 2011
I hope this film will be remembered by my generation as an obscure indie-horror gem. It was a masterful work of suspense and a beautiful homage to some of the great classics like Rosemary's Baby, Carrie, and other cult classics.
Rarely are films based along these story lines ever so elegant and rich in quality editing. It's not scary, not even shocking really, but it was a fun way to gradually be creeped out. And it didn't hurt to have Jocelin Donahue to look at.
