House of the devil is a movie made in 2013 but borrows heavily from 1970's horror movies, including using a camera from the 70's. Despite the 70's style of directing, the directing and specifically the color pallet of this movie was bland an unimaginative.

This movie sets you up for a interesting ending with about 70 minutes of charachter devolpment and throwback 1970's dance scenes. However the actual horror parts of the movie are forgetable, with just a simple run of the mill slasher villian who likes torturing babysitters.
