Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Imtiaz R — 22 Jul 2011
Ti West's wonderfully nostalgic direction and a good use of a creepy premise make this watchable shlock. However, the presence of a plot-spoiling reference to Satanic cults in the first frame of the film along with a somewhat over-wrought and uninventive last few scenes goes some way to undoing all the good of the tense and well acted mid section.
