Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Chris M — 05 Aug 2010
I really liked this one. It proves to me yet again that the best horror movies were made in the 1970s. This movie really emulates that right down to how the credits are shown. Some people said that it takes forever to get going, but I think it needed to introduce the characters more than most shitty American teen horror movies do these days.
There was lots of build up, which worked really well for me. I'm always glad to see Tom Noonan in a move. He always seems so calm, but creepy. Looking forward to seeing more of Ti West's films in the future.
