Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Tim S — 17 Jan 2011
I could go on an on about the way this film was made, the 16mm film that was used to shoot it, the pans, zooms and other camera moves...I could, but it would be much easier if you just see it for yourself.
I think the film is quite brilliant and a return to form for a modern-day horror film that was made in the "old" style. Those who felt is was boring and lead nowhere missed the point entirely and are better off sticking to their modern-day, over-the-top and frenetic schlock & shock fests that are pumped out a dime a dozen these days.
