Review of The Host (2006) by David H — 16 Mar 2011
I rarely watch horror movies, but when I do its the unconventional ones.
That intrigue me for other reasons beside their jump-scene scare factor.
Or "ingenious" new ways to kill people, and The Host is definitely not.
Conventional. A throwback to the rubber suited monster movies of the past The Host is more about the travails of a seriously dysfunctional family.
Than the strange and mostly unexplained creature that terrorizes Seoul.
An odd film that left me with a strange feeling of "what the heck did I.
Just watch" when the credits rolled. The film though was well done, the.
Monster well realized. Korea's turning the usual genre conceptions on its.
Ear and dragging it kicking and screaming to do its bidding.
