Refreshingly, little to no jump scares or modern horror cliches to be found in this movie.
In fact, I wouldn't classify it as a horror movie at all. Instead, it's a monster movie that spans the genres, from dark comedy to family drama to action movie to political satire. Empire describes it as being if Ken Loach remade Godzilla.
Surprisingly funny and even more surprisingly heartfelt and bittersweet, I'd actually recommend this movie.
