Unlike other writers posting here, I didn't watch Host with expectations of being scared, or seeing an event movie; instead I took it for what it is. What is amazing about this movie is how it defies the conventions of horror, comedy, & blockbuster to become a potent satire of the world's current collective paranoia & technological disconnectedness.
