Review of The Host (2006) by Sin S — 29 Jul 2017
This is a really strange movie. For the first 45 minutes or so it's fairly funny , with broad humour and it really doesn't hide the creature at all, which looks like a hybrid of The Predator and a sperm whale.
It's gory and somewhat creepy until the third act when it pulls out all the stops and becomes downright horrific. It's well directed and very well shot, with effective special effects, and, not unlike most Korean horror films it has its own touch of heart.
It's really very good.
