I *love* this movie--Paddy Chayefsky's a scarily prescient writer; he pinned down the absurdity of network television in "Network" and, in "The Hospital", the absurdity of the health care system, especially in urban areas.
His dialogue is hilariously dark, and I love the opening scene. George C. Scott's amazing in this.
