Review of The Horseman (2009) by Brad G — 27 Jun 2010
Iâ??m always down for a revenge film. Death Wish. Mad Max. Death Wish II. The Great Silence. Death Wish III. The Wrath of Khan. Death Wish IV. Kill Bill. Death Wish V. Old Boy. Those are great frickinâ?? movies.
However, the Australian tale of vengeance, The Horseman is only okay. Itâ??s got a great grit and grime to it and the acts of violence are properly, brutally portrayed, but I never connected with lead actor Peter Marshall.
Heâ??s pissed off for sure and I wouldnâ??t want to mess with him, but the film never really gave the audience any moments to feel his initial heartache. Itâ??s all rage no reason. And I never really cared if he crowbarred all the villains.
