As far as revenge stories go, this is a tough and unforgiving film which is centred by a terrific performance by Peter Marshall.

Following his quest to find the men responsible for the death of his daughter, the film kicks off in a non linear fashion and makes it very clear from the outset that he is not a man to be messed with. Whilst on the road he picks up a traveller and tells her that he is a pest exterminator and he isn't kidding.

Armed with his toolbox and crowbar, the brutality he unleashes on screen as he moves from one suspect to the next is unflinching and horribly realsitic. Come the end when he reaches the end of his quest and possibly meets his match, it is a totally engrossing and very scary situation to be witness to.

A lot of this comes down to the work of Peter Marshall. He grounds this chap in reality and for all of the horrible things that he does, we want to find out what happened and the little moments where he remembers his daughter balances out the general harchness that fills the rest of the story.

A real gem of a story about what a father is capable of doing when faced with the unthinkable, this is well written and played out with conviction by its excellent cast.
