Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Paul P — 13 Jun 2017
I was kind of pumped up to see this movie, as I knew very little about it but heard good things. Instead of it being 2017's version of The Conjuring, it really falls flat to me. Ok, so it isn't a scare-fest and I am ok with that.
However, don't bill yourself as that if you aren't. Ok, so it is a slower moving film, and I'm ok with that too, but give me a pay off for my time please. It does go a long way into the human mind when faced with life or death adversity, but an hour and a half is a long time for a single point to be made.
There is a reason why critics like this film, and audiences aren't crazy about it. The reason is the movie just isn't what it is supposed to be according to previews and such.
