Review of The Horse Whisperer (1998) by Jonathan C — 02 Dec 2010
I swear, Robert Redford can just stand there looking at a horse, and he makes it seem cool. I probably wouldn't have watched this if Redford was not in it, but seeing as he is, and he also directed it, I ended up seeing it and I have to be honest and say it is a really good movie.
The beginning itself is a little slow, and it is really hard to watch the horse being injured, but as soon as Redford shows up the movie becomes great. The rest of the movie runs along at a decent pace, with nice performances from the rest of the cast, although it was incredibly weird seeing Scarlett Johansson looking so young.
And then there is the horse work, which is just stellar, how you get those different emotions from a horse is beyond me, but they did. Good job Robert, have a carrot.
