Review of The Holy Mountain (1973) by Stephen A — 18 Nov 2007
Visually amazing film with a lot of symbolism you WON'T get with out Jodorowsky's commentary. Apparently a lot of drugs played a part in the film's making both on the side of the director/writer, and the actors.
The fact that it was shot in English seems to have caused a drop in the performances, but Jodorowsky also didn't want to use actors, so that explains it too. I find the lack of talent to actually enhance the idea of the film.
Also, this movie may cause your brain to explode.
