Review of The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) by Tom G — 27 Aug 2017
Every scene goes just a bit too long. The oh so many clichés drag the movie down to a crawl. And just when it couldn't get any worse, the Ford product placements seemed like the movie was stopping to run a car ad.
The story was caught in the space where it was nonsensical. Not over the top enough to be farcical yet not believable because the characters would have to be superhuman to not have been killed 10 times over.
The chemistry and banter between Jackson and Reynolds was sometimes great but sometimes not so much. I also couldn't buy into Hayek's role, just not believable. There's other movies out now that are so much better.
I suggest you see one of those.
