Review of The Hitcher (1986) by Lawrence Alexander B — 20 Feb 2010
How bad did Rutger want to eat C. Thomas Howell's asshole? You see things differently when you're a little fella, the Hitcher guy is just a psychopath who survives on this sort of murderous chaos.
Not so at all, my young self. Hauer clearly wanted every inch Howell was packing deep down his throat, not allowing a drop of that teenaged seed to hit the floor. Those fucking lust stares he was giving him, killing that stupid broad who was getting in the way of their anal savagery, the sexual tension blued up my balls something nasty.
Of course as just a straight action film it's quite effective but nothing extraordinary. Hauer is always great, whether he's sleazing it up in a Verhoeven masterpiece or making that overrated Ridley Scott nonsense worthwhile.
That fucking remake is fucking horrendous and not only changes the ending but fucking ditches the gay vibe which honestly makes the picture worth more than just your run o' the mill nonsense.
