How many movies and tales of the perils of giving a stranger a lift have been spawned since this film? I don't know the answer to that question, but a lot...
And they really shouldn't have bothered. This one is the best I've seen. That evil hitcher dude is one scary looking guy. My only crit is that the ending was a bit of a let down. But you be the judge and definetly check out this film if you ge the chance!
Besides the film being great, it's also directed by a woman which was rare back then, and still pretty rare now when you think about it.
