Review of The Hills Have Eyes (1977) by Marcus W — 14 May 2009
When it comes to Craven I find him very hit/miss. For every Nightmare On Elm Street or Scream there's a Cursed or Red Eye. This is a brilliant idea but it's lacking in every area - and as Raimi and Argento have proved, low budget is no excuse for low quality.
The scares aren't, plot is basic, etc. The remake is much better.
