Review of The Hills Have Eyes (1977) by Jon C — 13 Oct 2013
Both this version and the remake are equally scary.
But there are minor changes and similarities together.
This version is a lot faster paced with the thrills and certainly the tension and the violence.
Wes Craven was an early horror filmmaker back in the day and knew how to tap into the savagery of humankind.
What separates this film from the new one is that more emphasis is on the two different families; the normal vacationers and the flesh-eaters, they are two separate parallels to one another.
The villains actually interact more, too.
At this point you really have to consider whether staying home or going on a road-trip in the middle of nowhere period, does it really seem safe anymore?
