Review of The Hero (2017) by Tatsuhito K — 10 Apr 2017
Sam Elliott is absolutely brilliant as a Western icon who gets diagnosed with cancer and comes to terms with the people he loves. "The Hero" is a film that I admire rather than I like, and that may have to do with the fact that I'm too young to understand the depth of the story.
It's a film about aging and legacy, and I have to admit that I felt detached from what was going on for the most part. Written and directed by the dude who made the wonderful "I'll See You in My Dreams".
It's a well-acted and well-made drama.
