"The Hero" is carried by Sam Elliot's mesmerizing performance as an aging Western actor far beyond his prime. His life has come to a crossroads where he is facing certain death, but there is a newfound need for existence with the emergence of a new love and the potential reconciliation with his daughter.
The only thing missing is more screen time for the heartbroken Krysten Ritter.
