I didn't expect to like this and I feel a bit odd admitting it. I am an action guy. Give me explosions and guns blazing any day of the week and I am happy so how is it that I enjoyed a movie about 1960s Mississippi housewives and their African American maids? The story is great (it might have been even better if based on an actual story) the acting is superb and I will admit it deserved the awards it was nominated for.
It is a bit odd giving The Help such high praise but it really is a great movie.
