Review of The Help (2011) by September O — 24 Nov 2012
Everyone (under the main cast) deserves an oscar. Despite the fact that the racism was exaggerated quite a bit, but nonetheless, it's a tearjacker. The film depicted the racism in Mississippi during the sixties, and the horrible cycle of unappreciated white women raised by their black maids.
Except for one: Skeeter, who determines to write about the injustice and publish it to avenge her maid who raised her for 27 years then got fired. The film features a strong female cast, with beautiful sets and costumes.
It looked realistic enough to make me cry throughout the film. A must see.
