The opposite of my kind of movie. But a great movie I did enjoy. I am not white, black or a woman. I also didn't grow up in the US. So I am definitely not the intended audience for this story, its characters or historical background.
my personal take on it is that even if it often tries a little too hard to pull on your heartstrings and may reduce segregation issues of that era to a simplistic black and white (har har) situation, the entertaining story, good direction and great acting performances makes this a movie worth the watch.
