Review of The Haunting (1963) by Andrew G — 03 Jun 2007
Ooh. A 1963 horror film. Rated G. How scary can it be? Can G films even be called HORROR? YES. This film definitely proves that G films can still be scary. It's not what is shown, but what isn't.
You will nearly suffocate from the amount of suspense and atmosphere involved in this film. Robert Wise, the director, always seemed to find a way to make a wonderul film without angering the studios, going overbudget, overtime, and still appeal to everyone.
I hail him as this century's film genius. Rest in Peace, Mr. Wise.
