Review of The Haunting (1963) by Joseph E — 08 Nov 2007
This is likely the most effective ghost story ever committed to celluloid! The movie depends almost completely on sound, a concept that The Blair Witch Project would later believe that it invented. The film is helped along by a cast of fascinating characters who you grow to feel concern for.
This is what really makes the scenes involving the poltergeist so suspenseful, you truly feel fear with the characters you have grown to love!
