Review of The Hate U Give (2018) by Jsagafi — 20 Mar 2019
Powerful portrayals by Amandla Stenberg, Regina Hall, Russell Hornsby, and others. The ending was a bit tidy, but given how brutal and sad the realities of the world being depicted are, it was welcome.
This movie is a must-see for Americans (above, maybe, 15 years old, because of the mature themes). But how tragic that it is well-known to black Americans above, maybe, 7 years old, and so foreign to white Americans (especially those over 50 or under 15).
