Do you want to do something about racial conflict and police brutality? Well if you do this movie is great for you although there is a book about it I'm talking about the movie. The Hate U Give simply known as THUG is about a 16-year-old girl called Starr with two râ(TM)s she experience racial conflict and police brutality by officer 115.
The officer 115 put 3 bullets in Khalil (Starr's first kiss and best friend). Khalil got shot 3 times for not giving a signal to get on the road. When Starr was younger she also experienced the same thing with her other best friend, her other best friend got shot by gang members.
From here the movie was pretty depressing but Starr is trying her best to speak up for Khalil. She is having problems with friends and her boyfriend (who is white) after this because they don't know that she is the witness.
This movie has some comedy and some drama mostly every teen need in a movie like if it were a reality show. This movie is mostly recommended to people who are mature about police brutality and racial conflict there are some jokes that might throw you off but so far the movie is terrific!
