Now this is a classic masterpiece that was ahead of its time. The Guns Of Navarone is a war thriller about a group of skilled Allied soldiers on a mission to destroy a pair of powerful cannons on an Axis occupied island to prevent defeat and destruction of Allied ships nearby.
The cast and performances were impressive, as were the production values "for its time", including impressive technical achievements in visual effects, sound, and editing. Even at a 2h 38min long runtime, the movie rarely feels that it's progressing slowly.
Filled with thrills, adventure, action, and great solid performances, The Guns Of Navarone is a unforgettable classic.
