Let me start by saying that I have read the book. In fact, I read the book before seeing the movie. While it is a good film, I can't help but feel that the casting was all wrong. Annette Bening was the only one who I felt captured the spirit of her character in Thompson's novel.
Read the book first, or vice versa. Either way, you will be pleased.
