Review of The Grifters (1990) by Oliver Z — 14 Jul 2008
A bit loose. It tries to be elusive and noir-ish, but just comes off as confused and meandering. I mean, look, its a good film and worth a watch and Cusack is always the bomb, but it just isn't assured of itself.
Oh and the soundtrack is half serious, half bumbling-caper-comedy, which clearly doesn't fit.
