Review of The Green Berets (1968) by Heri C — 06 Jun 2012
Great action movie. It's of the Vietnam era and best viewed as such. It may be the only pro-war movie of that conflict and reflects John Wayne's, and many American leaders', views of that conflict.
The right wing views have been rubbished extensively but as a movie reflecting why America went to war in Vietnam is it fascinating. Still watchable occasionally even after all this time. My teen boys like it as an action movie and also understand it's political agenda which they see as still as alive in USA politics (they suggest: Sarah Pallin, George W Bush).
Worthwhile action viewing in this context. Nicely viewed soon after/before Apocalpse Now.
