Review of The Greatest Showman (2017) by Jeremy G — 11 May 2018
I don't care for musicals as a genre, so take that for what it's worth. Anyway... I guess the critics view this as a missed opportunity to explore the real life story behind P.T. Barnum, but I found it enjoyable in as much as a musical can be.
The whole point is the singing and dancing, both of which were well done. I stayed engaged for the duration and would recommend this as a fine date night or family film. If you're looking for a complex, nuanced treatment of the source material though, look somewhere else.
