First and foremost: Iï¿ 1/2(TM)m glad I had the displeasure of seeing this movie for free versus having to pay for it. Now, you know when you watch a movie and are just so captivated by the characters, laughing and crying with them, and you even think about them after the movie is over? I have, but it definitely wasnï¿ 1/2(TM)t with this movie. While The Greatest Showman prides itself on its visuals and music (which are the only enjoyable aspects), everything else can be shortly described as absolute garbage. Theyï¿ 1/2(TM)ll start with our two main characters as children, then see an annoying amount of time skips until they finally finish the sequence with them as adults with children. Then, while seeming like a rags to riches story, they seem to never struggle; though they face two minutes of failure, itï¿ 1/2(TM)s met with immediate success as they suddenly gather the money to advertise for freaks to join their circus. He even finds a women with a beautiful voice, but with low confidence due to her having a beard (that she for some reason didnï¿ 1/2(TM)t shave??). With this setup youï¿ 1/2(TM)d expect some sort of story of her overcoming. But no, no character with a background that sets them up for any sort of development actually gets it. Now Iï¿ 1/2(TM)m going to talk about the main character, whom I canï¿ 1/2(TM)t even answer the name of. He starts out at the sympathetic poor protagonist, in love with some rich girl, even though her parents didnï¿ 1/2(TM)t approve. Then, we see him very quickly grow up through the aforementioned time skips. Over time he seems to get a lot less sympathetic, and more aggravating (my friend called the story ï¿ 1/2rags to b!tchesï¿ 1/2Â?). He starts to flirt with this woman in Europe (because the Queen wanted the circus there???) and calls her ï¿ 1/2the best singer heï¿ 1/2(TM)s ever heardï¿ 1/2Â? (she wasnï¿ 1/2(TM)t even too extraordinary if Iï¿ 1/2(TM)m being honest) in front of his own wife, kids, and bearded lady. As he spends time with this lady and Zac Efron (who surged no real purpose in the movie other than to sing a song), he pushes the other circus members and his family away. It was at this point that I finally was gifted with the sweet release of having other places to be, and Iï¿ 1/2(TM)m glad I didnï¿ 1/2(TM)t have to force myself through the rest of this garbage.

TL;DR : this movie sucks.
