Review of The Greatest Game Ever Played (2005) by Pradeep D — 02 Apr 2008
Now this was a movie to remember. I remember the first time I watched it ... I was channel surfing and was only ready to give the film a minute before browsing for something better. An hour and a half later I finally broke off from the TV to see when it was repeating so I could catch the beginning.
This movie is a testament to screenplay, directing and cinematography. The musical score is fitting with the epic-like rendition of a very popular golf match in 1913 where an amateur golfer that nobody heard about played an intense round of golf with the greatest British golfing legend of all times. The acting is great on all fronts, the story inspiring and the entire plot well-balanced. I loved this one, and think it's one of those rare sports movies that transcend the game and focus more on the protagonist and his journey to success.
A must watch for the entire family.
