Review of The Great McGinty (1940) by Michael L — 26 Sep 2008
Probably the weakest preston sturges film ive seen. it was funny and had some great visuals and the usual sturges wit but was lacking the insight and the innovation of his later work. you can definetely see his style developing and his footing get better but this is no lady eve or sullivan's travels.
strong performance brian donlevy though.
