Good parable, but the flow & build-up could be improved. Cast is alright, but not sure that it couldn't have been better. However, it expertly describes the graft & scheme that political power truly is.
I do hate the maternalist meme. That only via his wife does he suddenly care for poor people. We get some of the worst welfare state policies that way.
