Review of The Great McGinty (1940) by Christopher B — 08 Nov 2007
Sturges' first film as director. Clever political satire, and a nice showcase for frequent second-banana/villain Donlevy. Sturges would go on to much better, but this is a smart, sharp little film in its own right.
