Review of The Great Gatsby (1974) by Katherine H — 25 Aug 2007
A great adaptation to F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel of the same name. It stays amazingly faithful to the book, with Robert Redford (Gatsby) and Mia Farrow (Daisy) as the main leads, although Sam Waterston does a stunning job as Nick Carraway.
The lavish lifestyles of the 1920s is brought back to life in this 1974 film, delving into the pursuit of the American Dream, and the subsequent corruption of society. A definite much-check-out, with good acting and great camera use of zooming in and out at convenient times!
